It’s mango season at Khetipati Organics, and as always, the pace is fast. Packets of crunchy and sweet mangoes are making their way to customers across the globe. But mangoes are only one part of our story. Behind the busy fruit season, something equally important continues something that connects deeply with Nepal’s land, forests, and tradition. While the world enjoys our mangoes, we are also exporting another set of seasonal treasures: Fiddlehead Ferns (Niuro), Bamboo Shoots (Tama), Pumpkin Vine Shoots (Pharsi ko Munta). Loved in Nepali kitchens for generations, these wild and homegrown greens are now enjoyed by families and food lovers in Australia, the Middle East, the USA, and Japan and we’re proud to keep that tradition growing strong.
We are truly blessed that our land is rich, fertile, and bursting with life, a place where diverse fruits, greens, medicinal herbs, and spices grow naturally across different seasons. With each spring and monsoon, Nepal’s hills and forests offer up a variety of wild and semi-wild vegetables that appear only for a short time, yet are full of flavor, nutrition, and cultural value. At Khetipati Organics, we take pride in bringing these seasonal treasures to the world. This season, we are exporting Fiddlehead Ferns (Niuro) handpicked himalayan greens which are earthy, crisp, and packed with antioxidants. Alongside them are Bamboo Shoots (Tama) young, tender shoots collected during the rains and traditionally fermented or preserved for their unique flavor. We are also exporting Pumpkin Vine Shoots (Pharsi ko Munta) soft, vibrant tips harvested fresh from local kitchen gardens, offering both nutrition and a taste of home. These are more than just vegetables they are living expressions of Nepal’s landscape, traditions, and timeless connection to the earth. These vegetables are loved in Nepali kitchens but now they’re reaching Australia, the Middle East, the USA, and Japan thanks to our dedicated processing and export team.
What makes these exports even more meaningful is how they’re sourced.
At Khetipati Organics, we work directly with rural collectors and smallholder farmers across Nepal. In regions like the eastern hills, mid-western districts, and forest-fringe villages, local families gather and grow these greens, often combining the harvest with daily activities like firewood collection or gardening. Through our partnership they receive fair income during the lean monsoon months. We help bridge their harvests to global markets, ensuring value reaches the source. This model not only empowers rural livelihoods but also strengthens Nepal’s regenerative food systems. We are honored to share that our wild vegetable exports are finding homes in kitchens across continents, bringing the freshness of Nepal’s highlands and forests to Nepali communities abroad and new audiences seeking authentic, organic, and sustainable food.
At Khetipati Organics, our mission is clear: To deliver the richness of Nepal’s agriculture fruit and forest, tradition and taste to the global table. These are more than exports. They’re expressions of our identity and biodiversity. From the forest floors to international shelves Khetipati Organics is proud to grow with Nepal and grow for the world.
